Odell Beckham Still a Challenge for Depleted Eagles.

The Eagles enter Sunday a heavy favorite over the New York Giants (-6), but that doesn’t mean there isn’t cause for concern.

Odell Beckham Jr., who has 521 yards receiving and four touchdowns in six games vs. the Eagles, is healthy for the first time in weeks.

On the other hand, the Eagles secondary is in shambles. The Eagles lost three players due to injury this past Sunday. It is unlikely that the following defensive backs will be active:

CB Ronald Darby

CB/S Jaylen Watkins

CB/S Corey Graham

S Rodney Mcleod

That means that the Eagles will start a 3rd round rookie Rasul Douglas (who looked good last week) at corner, and their special teams ace Chris Maragos at safety.

The Eagles secondary’s saving grace this Sunday will be that the Giants offensive line is atrocious and they can not buy Eli Manning enough time to look downfield. In previous years, Beckham would burn the Eagles on deep passes, in part because Manning had better pass protection in the past.

Regardless, hold your breath this Sunday.
