Stefen Wisniewski has solidified the left guard spot

I never thought the words “unsung hero” and “Stefen Wisniewski” would go together in the same sentence, however after Sunday’s 27-24 defeat of the New York Giants, I believe they should.

Wisniewski was splitting reps with Chance Warmack at left guard throughout the game, which is something I haven’t heard of or seen in a regular season game. It became obvious that: one, Warmack is still a work in progress, and two, Wisniewski is a damn solid offensive lineman.

The Eagles offense changed when he came onto the field. After failing to run the football successfully for two weeks, the Eagles ran over the Giants vaunted run defense, piling on 193 yards on the ground. A majority of those yards occurred when Wisniewski was on the field, especially near the end of the game.

Brian Baldinger even praised how well Wiz did when breaking down film via Twitter:

I firmly believe that Warmack or Seumalo would not have been able to execute these two key runs. Hopefully, Wiz will be the starter for the rest of the season.
