Saturday afternoon the Pitman, NJ police department hosted its first food truck fundraiser. My 2 Chicks & a Chef co-host John Cohl and I were on-hand to take in all that the festival had to offer.

The purpose of the event was to benefit the department’s K-9 program. The unit is run entirely on donations for it’s operating budget and isn’t funded with any taxpayer dollars.

The Chow Down featured various charities and food vendors offering a wide selection of dishes along South Broadway and around Ballard Park. The park itself was transformed into an outdoor cafe, complete with picnic tables and strung lights.

In addition to food trucks, all of the local restaurants were open to the day’s attendees.

Attendees enjoyed music, fun and with at least 20 food truck vendors were set up, there was certainly plenty of food to try out.

‘2 Chicks & a Chef’ spotlights local food and beverage events from Philadelphia to Atlantic City. In addition to John and Ron, the show features Kim Shurig and can be heard every Saturday afternoon from 11am-1pm on WSNJ 1240AM in South Jersey
