The Sixers have been no stranger to questionable situations revolving around there first round picks in the past 4 years. All of these situations have to do with injury and the latest victim of the Sixers injury bug is Markelle Fultz.

Fultz has soreness in his left shoulder which has led him to adjusting his shooting form. The shoulder injury has now shelved Markelle for an indefinite amount of time with a re-evaluation in 3 weeks. As fans we’ve been through the run-around of this confusing story. Being the #1 overall pick in this year’s draft in the year that it’s actually time to not accept the Sixers as a train wreck anymore has a lot of scrutiny on Fultz even with the injury factor.

Fultz was on the hot seat with the fans due to his sub-par from lofty expectations. I have not been reading any Fultz hate recently since the fans have closure with what was wrong with Fultz. This is another situation where I am not surprised that the Sixers front office fumbled the dealings of a young players injury. They have proved it in the ‘Process Years’ with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. So this should’ve been inevitable in the pessimist’s mind or that person could just be basing it off the recent history of the franchise.

Now the team can keep growing with the pieces that are in place that have potential with THIS team. The players I’m inferring with that are TJ McConnell, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, Robert Covington, and Justin Anderson. All pf the players mentioned in the article are clearly learning how to play in the NBA more and more every game, some more than others.

Getting Markelle healthy is the most important thing to me as a fan of the team and most important to the Sixers organization. Now we can sit and watch this team with him out of sight and out of mind for the time being.
