The Best Heel in all of Wrestling is in NXT

When you look at the wrestling landscape in 2018, the true heels are becoming a loss form of art. I’m not saying that we don’t see heels anymore, I am just saying that heels that get booed constantly are few and far between. When you look at the WWE, you have “heels” like Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Jinder Mahal, and others. Personally, they aren’t true heels because the second the WWE turns them face, they will be cheered. The only one on the main roster who comes close to being a true heel is the Miz. He comes off cocky, arrogant, and full of himself.

For most of 2018, NXT has been creating a heel that could be looked at as a throwback heel. I’m talking about Tomaso Ciampa. He was a face for most of his run in NXT while he was teaming with Johnny Gargano. At the first Takeover Chicago event, D.I.Y lost the NXT Tag titles to the Authors of Pain in a ladder match. He would end up turning on Johnny Gargano and begin the best angle in the history of NXT. In there two clashes, Ciampa has come off as the perfect heel.

He laughs with a creepy smile and brings a lot of heat on himself. He is showing mannerisms and expressions that are making people not like him. In addition, he is living the gimmick. Nowadays, wrestlers don’t live what gimmick they play on TV for the most part. He will end up trolling you on Twitter and has made heel style comments. He is someone who I would find it rather tough to turn back to being a face. Maybe this will change down the road, but I don’t see how it’s possible now. It will be interesting to see how far they can go with him being a heel.
